Common questions

Is Shelfd free?

Yes. Shelfd is free to download and free to use — track your books, build your library, and keep your reading habit going without paying a cent. Shelfd Premium is an optional subscription that unlocks a few extras, but the core app is yours for free, always.

How do I bring my books from Goodreads or StoryGraph?

Export your library from Goodreads or StoryGraph as a CSV file, then open Shelfd and go to Profile → Import Books. Pick the file and Shelfd will bring your reading history in. Everything happens on your device — the file never passes through us.

What comes with Shelfd Premium?

Premium lets you read up to three books at once, pause books and save your spot, write reviews on finished books, and see deeper stats and genre insights. You can subscribe from the Profile tab, and there's a free trial to try it first.

I subscribed but I'm on a new phone — where's my Premium?

Open the app, go to the premium section under Profile, and choose Restore Purchases. Your subscription is tied to your Apple Account, so it'll come right back. Subscriptions are managed through Apple — you can view or cancel yours anytime in your iPhone's Settings, under your Apple Account.

How do I back up my library?

Go to Profile → Back Up Library to save a backup file wherever you like. To bring it back later, use Restore from Backup. Because your library lives on your device, keeping an occasional backup is a good habit — especially before switching phones.

Where does my data go?

Nowhere. Your library, notes, and reading history all live on your device — Shelfd has no servers and no accounts. You can read the full details in our Privacy Policy.

What do I need to run Shelfd?

An iPhone running iOS 17 or later. That's it.
